The 27th inauguration of Computer Society of MIT was held on 9th August, 2010 at Rajam Hall. The Chief Guest Mr.Raman from ILUGC presented a wonderful inaugural address which gave a quite clear introduction to FOSS for the first year students who made up about 95% of the audience (total strength crossed 300).

The first issue of the e-magazine of MIT named Kaleidoscope was released here. The magazine covers various technical and non-technical articles contributed by many MITians. You can get the magazine online. To get the future issues directly to your inbox you can subscribe to our mailing list.

கணினியும் இணையமும் இரு கண்களாகிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் வேளையில் இக்கருத்தரங்கத்திற்கான நோக்கம் யாதெனில் தமிழில் நிறைய கட்டற்ற மென்பொருட்களைக் கொணர்தலும் இணையத்தில் தமிழ்ப்பயன்பாட்டை அதிகரித்தலும் ஆகும். இதற்காகப் பல பணிகள் செம்மையாக உலகின் பல இடங்களில் பல்வேறு அமைப்புகளால் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. இதன் ஓர் அங்கமாக சென்னை தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனத்தில் ஆகஸ்ட் 28ந் தேதி அன்று தமிழ்க்கணிமை கருத்தரங்கம் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இதில் தமிழ்த்தொண்டாற்ற விருப்பமுள்ள அனைவரும் வரவேற்கப்படுகிறார்கள். இதில் ஒவ்வொருவரின் செம்மையான பங்கும் யாதெனில் தமிழ்க்கணிமைப் பயன்பாட்டிற்கான பணித்திட்டங்களில் தங்களின் பங்களிப்பைச் சிறப்பாகச் செய்வதாகும்.

இக்கருத்தரங்கத்தில் கலந்துகொள்ள / உரையாற்ற விரும்புவோர் இங்கு பதிவு செய்யவும்.

The office bearers of CSMIT met yesterday (July 5th) evening to discuss about the activities for this year.

It was an interesting session starting with Vignesh giving an overall view about the activities, followed by discussion within individual teams about their respective activities. The team members of each team interacted with each other with their ideas to carry out the activities.

After this intra-team discussion, a person from each team gave a gist of the discussion.

Things discussed….

• Inauguration on August 16 (tentative)
• Juggernaut-July in the 3rd week
• Publishing periodic magazine covering the activities of CSMIT and useful articles from MITians
• Conducting workshops, seminars and talks by eminent personalities periodically
• Uploading the question papers of PDA-CS Aptitude test and Juggernaut in the site
• All office bearers in MITLinux mailing list and Computer Society google groups
• Campus ambassadors for Free software companies
• Providing shared equipments for Robotics team

The first meeting of the Board of Directors of CSMIT was held yesterday (July 3, 2010) at 5 pm at the wifi access tower in front of PT department. With 100% attendance!

The discussion was about the activities of various teams this year.

The first office bearers meeting has been scheduled tomorrow (July 5, 2010 Monday) at 4.45 PM.
